How to View User Onboarding Answers in Vinly

Vinly allows you to collect onboarding responses from users when they join your space such as their interests, role, or how they heard about your community. As an admin or member, you can view these answers in a couple of ways depending on your permissions and space settings.

Option 1: View Onboarding Answers from a User’s Profile

You can quickly see individual onboarding responses directly from the member directory if your space has this feature enabled.

Steps:

1. Go to your space settings

   • Select Settings.

     Enable “Show Onboarding Answers”

   • Under the General section, make sure the toggle for Show Onboarding Answers is turned on.

   • This allows members to view each other’s responses (if they’ve filled them out).

     Open a public channel’s member directory

   • Navigate to any public channel in your space.

   • Click the Members icon to open the directory.

     Find and click on a user’s profile

   • Search for the member whose onboarding answers you want to view.

   • Click their profile to open their details.

     View their onboarding responses

   • If the user has filled out their onboarding form, their answers will appear under their profile info.
   • If they haven’t completed onboarding, this section will not appear.

Option 2: Download All Onboarding Answers as an Admin

If you’re a space admin, you can access a full export of all user onboarding responses.

Steps:

1. Go to your space settings

   • Select Settings.

     Navigate to the last tab

   • Scroll through the tabs at the top of the settings page and open the Data or Export tab (depending on your view).

     Download user data

   • Click Download User List.

   • This will export a file containing all users in your space, along with their onboarding responses (if completed).

     Open and review the file

   • The exported list will include columns for each onboarding question and the users’ responses.
   • You can use this file for analysis, CRM uploads, or community insights.

✅ Tips

• Privacy Reminder: Only admins can download the full list of onboarding answers.
• Missing Responses: If a user hasn’t completed onboarding, their answers won’t appear in either the directory or export.
• Updates: Users can update their onboarding answers from their profile settings at any time.
