Part 1: Set Up a Location Onboarding Question

The map feature plots member locations based on their answers to a specific onboarding question. You must create and enable this question first.

1. Navigate to your Space Settings. You can find this by clicking the dropdown arrow in the second column.
2. In the settings menu, select the Overview tab.
3. Scroll to the onboarding questions section.
4. Ensure you have an active onboarding question that is set to the Location type. (If you do not have one, you will need to create one.)
5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Part 2: Link the Question to the Map

After your location question is saved, you need to connect it to the map feature.

1. Re-open your Space Settings.
2. From the settings menu, select Location Map.
3. You will see an option labeled "Select the location question to display on the map for all members."
4. Click the dropdown menu and select the location-based question you enabled in Part 1. The setting should save automatically.

Part 3: How to View the Member Map

Once the map is configured, you and your members can view it in any public channel.

1. Go to a public channel, such as your main Community Feed.
2. Look for the map icon in the channel header.
3. Click the icon to open and view the Member Location Map.
